Agricultural and Pastoral Management Planning

Contour Environmental and Agricultural Consulting combine all aspects of landscape management in a single holistic plan, to map and document a land manager’s own ideas and goals for the management of an area and develop strategies and activities to help them achieve those goals.

A 'whole of property' approach to get a balance between conserving the natural rangelands and achieving your business goals.

Landscape

Our work delivering the ESRM process in the rangelands of WA, SA and QLD has extended regenerative pastoral practises and principles to over 100 properties representing over 19 million hectares.

Grounded in current science, the process maps and documents a land manager’s own ideas and goals for the management of an area, and devises strategies and activities to help them achieve those goals, while maximising the positive NRM outcomes for the area.

A strong focus is on maximising rainfall use efficiency of landscapes through total grazing management, fire management and mechanical rehydration techniques.

Where stakeholders have conflicting management ideas and goals, the process allows for frank discussions and identification of commonalities to generate a strategy that provides a sound compromise for all, whilst working within a best practise NRM framework.

The plan identifies the critical parts of the landscape from an ecological and cultural perspective and lays out management actions for each.

This process is highly regarded within the pastoral, mining and indigenous land management industries as the ‘gold standard' of landscape management plans.

LEAF Planning

The Landscape Evaluation and Financial (LEAF) planning process has been designed for a property who wants to have a complete ESRM plan, backed by a fully costed business and financial plan.

LEAF Planning

Landscape and Financial

The LEAF planning process delivers whole of landscape, triple bottom line plans that provide guidance and clarity for land managers to have confidence in the merit of their investments of time and money into their landscape.

Building on the Ecologically Sustainable Rangelands Management (ESRM) planning process, LEAF plans deliver best practice landscape and business management strategies to the agricultural and pastoral industries.

In collaboration with Richard Brake Agri Business Consultants these plans are your one stop shop to ensure that both your landscape and business are performing at their peak.
